Now 100+ seeds per packet. Fragaria moschata fruit has an intense musky flavor and aroma. A few years ago they were nick named bubble berries in Europe because their flavor is a mix of tastes that reminded the person of bubble gum.

In aroma studies musk fruit is found to have the highest quantity and number of components that make up the aroma. Not everyone is fond of the flavor. Another way to describe the flavor is to say it tastes like wine with many fruity overtones.

Pictures of plants in my yard were taken on May 6th 2020. The area under this tree was a weedy mess two years ago. I transplanted 5 plants to the area and they truly went nuts. They just love the shade after they produce fruit (first picture). There are a few weeds at the time this picture was taken but they can be cleaned up in minutes. Before musks were added it took hours and produced many pounds of weeds. All we do is pull weeds in early spring, fertilize with Holly Tone and harvest the berries. Simple!!

Musk strawberries require male and female plants (dioecious) to produce abundant crops. The seed sold here will produce approximately a 50:50 ratio of male:female plants. There is no way that we know of to identify the sex until the plants start fruiting. At that time excess males can be rogued out. Don't worry, plants produce abundant runners which will fill any spaces quickly. Plants are June bearing and may not produce fruit until the second year.
